Briggs presents Fort Riley Volunteer of the Year with keys to Murano

Ret. Sgt. Maj. Richard Young, BriggsAuto.com Director of Military Affairs, presents Jennifer Cuington with the keys to a 2009 Nissan Murano to drive for one month.

BriggsAuto.com congratulates Jennifer Cuington of Fort Riley on being named Volunteer of the Year by Army Community Services.

The 1-7 FA unit nominated Cuington for her volunteer contributions during the past year, and she was selected by the Army Community Services board from six finalists.

Cuington was recognized for her volunteer work during the past year with Stormont Vail, March of Dimes and other initiatives to help soldiers and their families.

To thank Cuington for her volunteerism, Ret. Sgt. Maj. Richard Young, BriggsAuto.com Director of Military Affairs, presented her with the keys to a 2009 Nissan Murano to drive for one month.

3 on 3 Basketball Tournament;Ft. Riley

“The ball goes up – he shoots he scores.” Fort Riley held the 3 on 3
Basketball Tournament at King Field House Saturday January 9th. 11 teams
and spectators participated in the event. “Got-em coach” was the team
that took it all home and won first place in the tournament.

CDC OPENS ON FT. RILEY

CDC Ribbon Cutting;
To better serve our Soldiers and Family members, Fort Riley held a
ribbon cutting ceremony for the 1st Division Child Development Center
January 8th. General Brooks and Mrs. Brooks was on hand along with Col
Brown and a Fort Riley Family to officially cut the ribbon opening this
brand new facility. Invitees then enjoyed a tour of the new facility
along with refreshments provided by Briggs Auto Group.

Bowling New Years Eve Party;
On December 31st the Custer Hill Bowling Center on Fort Riley rang in
the new year with a big bowling bash. The extreme bowling lanes were
completely filled for this event and party goers enjoyed bowling with
their families, party favors, a midnight champagne toast, breakfast
buffet, music provided by a DJ and door prizes. Briggs is proud to be part of bring in the new year on Ft. Riley.

Briggs proudly sponsored 1^st Infantry Division’s Victory Week Celebrations. During the event, Sergeant Eric Smith was the lucky soldier that won the ski boat donated by BriggsAuto.com. It was an exciting event with more than 4,000 attendees. The celebration kicked off with Battle of the Bands, car show and activities for soldiers, family members and children.

Followed by a concert hosted by Keni Thomas, a Army veteran, and capped off with an amazing fireworks display.

Prairie Run qualifies soldiers for Washington D.C. race

Briggs proudly sponsored Fort Riley’s 24^th annual 10-5-2 Prairie Run. This is a run that gives soldiers the opportunity to qualify for the AUSA 10 miler in Washington D.C. It is also opened to family members and the community. This year the Prairie Run had 324 participants with the youngest runner being six and the oldest being 76.
